Laine Hardy

Laine Hardy was born on September 12, 2000, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in Livingston. He began playing guitar at age eight, and by 14, he was performing in a band called The Band Hardy with his brother and cousins in local venues. Initially, he focused on guitar, but his brother encouraged him to start singing. This early exposure to performing and music laid the groundwork for his future career.

Hardy first auditioned for “American Idol” during its sixteenth season, making it to the Top 50 before being eliminated. He did not initially plan to audition for the seventeenth season. However, while accompanying his friend’s sister, Ashton Gill, as a guitar player for her audition, he was encouraged by judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie to audition again. This second attempt proved successful, leading him to win the competition in 2019, securing a recording contract with Hollywood Records/19 Recordings.

Following his “American Idol” victory, Hardy released his coronation song “Flame” in May 2019, performing it on “The View.” He embarked on his first headline tour from November to December 2019 across the US. Despite the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued to release new music, including singles like “Ground I Grew Up On” and “Let There Be Country” in April 2020, and “Tiny Town” in July 2020. His debut album, “Here’s To Anyone,” was released on September 17, 2021, featuring singles such as “Memorize You,” which gained popularity after its appearance on ABC’s “The Bachelor.” He continues to release new music, with his latest song “That Man” released in January 2025. In February 2025, Hardy announced the birth of his son, Hollis James Hardy, with his fiancée, Jordan Gautreau, with wedding plans underway.
