Lo Talker

Lo Talker was founded by Andrew Shepard, who had previously spent eight years as the frontman for the band Roadkill Ghost Choir. During his tenure with Roadkill Ghost Choir, the band achieved several milestones, including performing at major festivals and making an appearance on Late Night With David Letterman. Roadkill Ghost Choir also toured alongside the band Band of Horses. Following this period, Shepard sought a new creative direction, leading to the formation of Lo Talker with a fresh musical approach. The band is based in Athens, Georgia.

In October, Lo Talker released their debut song, “No Champagne.” This track received positive reviews from music blogs, with The Revue describing it as “one of the year’s best songs” and Postcard Elba stating, “I couldn’t possibly love this song more.” In December 2020, Lo Talker released “Automatic Love,” the second single from their upcoming album, ‘Comedy Of Errors.’ This album was scheduled for release in Spring 2021 through Arts & Crafts. “Automatic Love” combined elements of Sgt. Pepper’s-era Beatles psychedelia with indie folk influences similar to My Morning Jacket.

The lineup of Lo Talker includes Andrew Shepard (vocalist and songwriter), his brother Zach Shepard (bass), who also played in Roadkill Ghost Choir, along with Alec Stanley (guitar/keyboard), Rhett Fuller (guitar), and Jeremiah Johnson (drums). The album ‘Comedy Of Errors’ was produced, mixed, and engineered by Kevin Ratterman at his Los Angeles studio. Ratterman is known for his work with similar southern rock-inspired indie acts, including Jim James, My Morning Jacket, and Strand Of Oaks. This collaboration contributed to the band’s professional sound and production quality.
