Krystyna Viktorivna Herasymova, known professionally as Luna, was born on August 28, 1990, in Karl-Marx-Stadt, East Germany, where her father served in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. The family later relocated to Ukraine. Early in her career, Luna gained recognition for her distinctive musical style, which combined electronic music with a melancholic atmosphere and incorporated references to 1990s pop culture. This approach helped her music resonate with critics and audiences alike, marking her emergence in the indie pop scene.
Her debut album, “Mag-ni-ty,” released on May 20, 2016, quickly entered the top 20 of iTunes Ukraine. This was followed by a vocal feature on electronic artist Shumno’s album “Snowfall” for the song “Wake.” Luna continued her musical development with the “Zatmenie” autumn tour, performing in cities including Moscow, Yekaterinburg, and Riga. On October 28, 2016, she released the mini-album “Sad Dance,” expanding her discography.
Luna’s career progression included the release of several successful albums: “Island of Freedom” (2017), “Enchanted Dreams” (2018), “Trans” (2019), and the mini-album “Fata Morgana” (2020). Notably, “Enchanted Dreams” reached number 1 on iTunes Ukraine and number 2 on iTunes Russia. In May 2023, she released her first entirely Ukrainian-language album, “Illusion,” demonstrating an evolution in her artistic expression. Her most recent album, “Mechty,” was released in 2024. Throughout her career, Luna has also been involved in modeling and photography, showcasing a diverse range of artistic pursuits.
