McBride & The Ride, an iconic American country music band, was formed in 1989 with the guidance of renowned producer Tony Brown. The trio, consisting of Terry McBride, Ray Herndon, and Billy Thomas, quickly made their mark with their debut album, “Burnin’ Up the Road,” released in 1991. This album set the stage for their success, showcasing their unique sound and leading to several hits on the Billboard country charts, including the memorable “Can I Count on You.”

Their follow-up albums, “Sacred Ground” and “Hurry Sundown,” released in 1992 and 1993 respectively, solidified their reputation in the country music scene. “Sacred Ground” achieved gold certification and featured the chart-topping hit of the same name, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard charts. The band’s ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with catchy melodies resonated with audiences, earning them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim.

In 1994, the group underwent a transformation, rebranding as Terry McBride & The Ride, which allowed McBride to continue leading the band while introducing new members. Despite a brief hiatus, the band reunited in 2000, releasing the album “Amarillo Sky” in 2002, further demonstrating their enduring appeal and musical evolution.

After another hiatus, McBride & The Ride made a triumphant return in 2021, reaffirming their place in country music. Their journey reflects resilience and a commitment to their craft, making them a beloved staple in the genre and a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity in music.
