Mcbride & The Ride

McBride & The Ride is an acclaimed country music band known for their tight three-part harmonies and a string of hit singles and albums spanning over three decades. After quickly establishing themselves in the country music scene upon their formation in Nashville, TN in 1989, McBride & The Ride went on to release three critically acclaimed albums on MCA Nashville. Their 1992 gold-certified album, Sacred Ground, reached an impressive No. 2 on the Billboard country charts.

This success followed their 1991 debut, Burnin’ Up The Road, and preceded Hurry Sundown in 1993. These early releases spawned several hit singles including “Sacred Ground,” “Going Out of My Mind,” and “Just One Night.” Notably, their 1993 single “Love on the Loose, Heart on the Run” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard country charts, while ‘No More Cryin” became their last Top 40 hit in 1994. The band’s talent was further recognized in 1992 with a Top New Vocal Group or Duo nomination from the Academy of Country Music and a Vocal Group of the Year nomination from the Country Music Association.

During this hiatus, the members continued their robust individual careers. Terry McBride wrote numerous chart-topping songs for other artists, and Ray Herndon self-released a solo album. Billy Thomas maintained an active schedule as a session and touring drummer, prominently with Vince Gill, and as a long-standing member of the acclaimed supergroup, The Time Jumpers. The original trio of Terry McBride, Ray Herndon, and Billy Thomas reunited in 2000, culminating in the 2002 release of Amarillo Sky on Dualtone Records.

The band remains active, delivering their acclaimed live performances to audiences.
