Megan Nicole

Megan Nicole Flores, born on September 1, 1993, in Houston, Texas, developed an early interest in music. Her introduction to music began around age 10 when her father bought her a karaoke machine. This interest deepened as she participated in her church’s music programs, including a church band during high school and choir in middle school, honing her vocal talents and instrumental skills on guitar and piano. Her heritage includes German and Native American from her mother, and Mexican American from her father, reflecting a diverse background.

Nicole began her public music career in 2009 by uploading cover song videos to YouTube. Her first upload was a cover of “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon, which marked the beginning of her online presence. She continued to gain a substantial following through covers of popular artists such as Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. Her collaborations with other YouTube artists, including Tiffany Alvord, Tyler Ward, and Lindsey Stirling, further expanded her reach. In 2011, she released her original song, “B-e-a-utiful,” which quickly accumulated millions of views, demonstrating her ability to transition from covering songs to producing original content. By 2012, Megan Nicole signed with Bad Boy Records, and her growing popularity led her to reach number 29 on the Billboard Social 50 chart.

In 2014, Megan Nicole departed from Bad Boy Records and independently released her debut EP, “Escape,” under Hume Records. This EP featured original songs co-written by Nicole and Tom Mgrdichian, with the lead single “Electrified.” The music video for “Electrified,” inspired by the 1980s, premiered on People.com. Her career also expanded into acting, with a lead role in the feature film “Summer Forever” (2015) alongside Alyson Stoner and Anna Grace Barlow, and subsequent roles in web series like “Roommates” and “Versus.” She continues to release music, including her 2018 studio album “My Kind of Party,” and maintains an active presence online through her music, streaming, and podcasting activities, while also developing her own fashion collection.
