Oh Chentaku, the Malaysian alternative rock phenomenon, ignited their musical journey in 2007 with a passion for blending diverse sounds into their distinctive brand of rock. Founded by Myo (vocals/guitar), Naem (bass), and Adib, the band underwent a transformative evolution, enriching their lineup with Jack on lead guitar and Wawa on keyboards. Their magnetic fusion of rock, alternative, post-hardcore, and progressive rock catapulted them into the hearts of music enthusiasts across Asia.

Breaking free from conventional record label constraints, Oh Chentaku crafted a signature sound that seamlessly weaves rock beats with punk, post-hardcore, pop, and electro elements. Myo’s decision to prioritize music over his hospitality career marked a turning point, propelling the band to victory in the “Battle Of The Indie Bands” and earning them accolades across Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Their electrifying performances alongside international acts like We Are The In Crowd and Taking Back Sunday showcased their prowess, while appearances on TV reality shows and festivals solidified their status as industry trailblazers. Despite not clinching victory in competitions like Versus, Oh Chentaku’s infectious energy and innovation won them a devoted fanbase.

Their 2014 album “Younghearts” served as a catalyst for mainstream success, headlining prestigious events like Rock The World festival and collaborating with renowned artists. Celebrating a decade of musical excellence, they unveiled singles like “Award Of The Year” before embarking on a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Resilient as ever, Oh Chentaku returned with the OCK OG project, spearheading the revival of Malaysia’s music scene amidst challenging times. With each performance, they continue to captivate audiences, proving that their legacy is as enduring as their music.
