Rebecca Minkoff is one of the founders of fashion brand Rebecca Minkoff alongside her brother Uri Minkoff in 2005. Starting off in New York City, Rebecca Minkoff’s brand now has a place in over 900 stores worldwide along with their own retail stores in New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Korea. Rebecca began designing fashion in 2001, and she got a taste of recognition when actress Jenna Elfman wore a shirt of her design on the Jay Leno show. Along with being one of the biggest designers, she has also guest starred on many on-screen productions.
Since launching, Minkoff’s brand has earned several awards and recognitions. In 2009, she won the New York Powers Women award, followed by the 2011 Breakthrough Designer Award from the Accessories Council. In 2010, her brand was announced as a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and in 2017 she was also named a member of the first New York State Council on Women and Girls. In 2018, Rebecca Minkoff announced that she would not be presenting the brand at Fashion Week, instead launching the project RM Superwoman.
RM Superwoman, launched alongside the 2018 Women’s March, is a social space with the goal of empowering women and encouraging those around the world to be brave. As recently as September 2018, Minkoff established the Female Founder Collective which is a network of women led businesses that invests in women’s socio-economic interests.
Alongside her fashion work however, Minkoff has secured many appearances on television, sharing her craft through the big screen. She made her debut on Fashion News Live and appeared in 3 episodes. From there she starred in numerous series such as Good Morning America, Project Runway All Stars, On the Money, Fashion Police, So Cosmo and many more.
