Sunset Rollercoaster quickly established an international presence after releasing their debut album, ‘Bossa Nova,’ in 2011, culminating in a performance at Japan’s prestigious Summer Sonic music festival the same year. The five-piece jazz-influenced synth-pop band, known for its distinctive sound and primarily English lyrics, temporarily disbanded following their debut but reformed in 2015. Comprised of Kuo-Hung Tseng (vocals, guitar), Hung-Li Chen (bass), Shao-Hsuan Wang (keyboard), Tsun-Lung Lo (drums), and Hao-Ting Huang (saxophone), the group embarked on a trajectory of increasing global recognition. Following their reformation, Sunset Rollercoaster continued to build momentum, performing at New York City’s SummerStage in Central Park as part of the Taiwanese Waves music festival in 2017.
In 2024, Sunset Rollercoaster embarked on a highly successful collaboration with the acclaimed band Hyukoh, resulting in the critically lauded album ‘AAA.’ This joint project immediately garnered widespread industry recognition, earning an impressive seven nominations for the 36th Golden Melody Awards. The following year, in 2025, ‘AAA’ secured multiple prestigious victories at the 36th Golden Melody Awards, triumphing with Best Vocal Recording Album, Best Music Video for their track ‘Antenna,’ and Best Album Design. These accolades underscore Sunset Rollercoaster’s consistent innovation and impact within the global music landscape.
