About

Katseye, a Los Angeles-based girl group, was formed in 2023 through the reality competition series “Dream Academy,” a collaboration between Hybe and Geffen Records. The group comprises six members: Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, representing diverse backgrounds from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States. Their formation process was extensively documented in the Netflix docuseries “Popstar Academy: Katseye,” which provided insight into their auditions, rigorous training, and ultimate selection. Several members brought prior experience to the group; Sophia, for instance, started singing at age three and appeared on “Family Feud Philippines,” while Daniela, an Atlanta native, excelled in dancesport and featured on “America’s Got Talent” and “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.” Manon gained popularity through TikTok and Instagram, and Yoonchae was a K-pop trainee prior to joining.

Katseye officially debuted in June 2024 with the single “Debut,” followed by their breakthrough track, “Touch.” While “Debut” received a lukewarm commercial response, with 2.33 million views in three days, “Touch” gained significant traction, ranking at number 22 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart and entering the Billboard Philippines Hot 100. Its choreography also went viral as a TikTok dance challenge in September 2024. The group released their first extended play (EP), “SIS (Soft Is Strong),” in August 2024, which debuted at number 119 on the Billboard 200, positioning Katseye atop the Emerging Artists chart. They subsequently embarked on an Asian tour, beginning in South Korea in September 2024.

In 2025, Katseye released their second EP, “Beautiful Chaos,” preceded by the singles “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.” “Gnarly” became their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 90. “Gabriela,” co-written by Charli XCX and featuring a cameo from Jessica Alba in its music video, reached number 45 on the Hot 100. “Beautiful Chaos” debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, marking their highest-charting release to date. Katseye is recognized for their distinctive Y2K-influenced fashion and has secured multiple brand endorsements, including collaborations with Fendi, Coach, Gap, Lush, and Jollibee, leveraging their diverse cultural backgrounds to shape their unique image.
