Switchfoot has evolved from a popular alternative rock band with deep roots in Christian rock to a Grammy-winning group known for its energetic live performances and collaborations, making them a compelling choice for brands seeking a positive and impactful association. After their music was prominently featured in the 2002 film ‘A Walk to Remember’, Switchfoot signed with Columbia Records/SonyBMG, releasing their double-platinum album ‘The Beautiful Letdown’ in 2003. This landmark achieved double-platinum status by 2005, selling over 2.6 million copies, propelled by hit singles ‘Meant to Live’ and ‘Dare You to Move’. Formed in 1996 by brothers Jon and Tim Foreman and Chad Butler, Switchfoot previously released three albums with Re:think Records: ‘The Legend of Chin’ (1997), ‘New Way to Be Human’ (1999), and the Grammy-nominated ‘Learning to Breathe’ (2000).
A significant career shift occurred in 2007 when the band became independent after parting with Columbia Records, subsequently establishing lowercase people records. This move facilitated greater creative freedom, leading to their seventh studio album, ‘Hello Hurricane’ (2009), which earned a Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album in 2011. They expanded their discography with ‘Vice Verses’ in 2011. Demonstrating diverse artistic approaches, Switchfoot released the ‘Fading West’ album and accompanying film in 2014.
Marking a significant milestone, Switchfoot released ‘The Beautiful Letdown (Our Version)’ in 2023, a re-recording celebrating the 20th anniversary of their double-platinum album. The band continues its impactful work, with the 20th annual Bro-Am event scheduled for 2024, reinforcing their enduring commitment to music.
