C.C. Catch, born Caroline Catherine Müller, is a German pop singer known for her collaborations with Dieter Bohlen and her subsequent solo career marked by artistic independence. After joining the German girl quartet Optimal in the 1980s and releasing their debut single ‘Er War Magnetisch’ in 1983, C.C. Catch was discovered by prominent European music producer Dieter Bohlen in 1985 while performing in Hamburg.
Bohlen signed her to BMG and launched her solo career under the stage name C.C. Catch. In the summer of 1985, she released her debut solo single, ‘I Can Lose My Heart Tonight,’ which achieved significant commercial success by entering the top 20 in several European countries, including Germany and Switzerland. Her highly successful collaboration with Bohlen continued until 1989, yielding an impressive twelve singles and four albums, with eight of those singles reaching the top 20 and one album entering the top 10 on various European charts.
Her 2003 single ‘Shake Your Head’ achieved further international recognition, reaching the top 12 in Spain. Expanding her media presence, she participated in the ProSieben show ‘Comeback – Die Big Chance’ in 2004, the same year she joined Modern Talking for their US tour, performing for large audiences across the United States. C.C. Catch continued her recording career with the release of the single ‘Unborn Love’ in 2010.
She embarked on a successful tour of the United States in 2015, followed by her first major concert in Toronto, Canada, in 2016. Her global reach expanded further with a concert tour of South America in 2017, captivating audiences across the continent. Most recently, C.C. Catch released her new single, ‘Heal Me,’ in 2024, continuing to engage her dedicated fanbase and demonstrate her lasting impact in the pop music landscape.
