Tee Grizzley is a widely renowned Amercian rapper, singer and songwriter from Detroit who is best known for his popular singles ‘First Day Out’, ‘No Effort’, ‘Colours’ and ‘From the D to the A’. Grizzley’s debut single was released in 2016, titled ‘First Day Out’ and was premiered through YouTube. The song got over two million views in just three weeks and was incredibly successful, leading to a record deal with 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Records in 2017.
In 2018 Grizzley released his debut album, Activated, which was positively received by fans and critics alike and peaked at No 10 on the Billboard 200. January 2020 saw Grizzley release another single, titled ‘Red Light’. Following the release, ‘Payroll’ and ‘No Talkin’ were released, the latter featured in the Netflix film Coffee & Kareem.
A number of singles have been released in 2020, including ‘I Spy’ and ‘Mr Officer’, which was written in response to the killing of George Floyd and the subsequent scrutiny and outrage of police brutality in the US.
Grizzley’s most recent mixtape was released to positive reviews, titled The Smartest. The mixtape peaked at No 22 on the Billboard 200 and features guest appearances from famous names such as Big Sean, Lil Keed, Meek Mill and Queen Naija, as well as members of the Detroit Youth Choir.
