Valley is a dynamic Canadian indie pop band based in Toronto, known for their infectious melodies and engaging performances. Formed in 2014, the band emerged from a serendipitous double-booking at a local recording studio, bringing together talented musicians Rob Laska, Alex Dimauro, and Karah James. Their debut EP, “Car Test,” released in 2015, showcased their unique sound and set the stage for their subsequent projects, including the critically acclaimed EPs “This Room Is White” and “Maybe Side A,” which laid the groundwork for their full-length album, “Maybe,” released in September 2019.
Valley’s commitment to their craft has earned them significant recognition, including nominations for the Juno Awards for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2020 and Group of the Year in 2022. Their singles, such as “Nevermind” and “Hiccup,” have resonated with fans, leading to the release of their EP, “Sucks to See You Doing Better,” which featured both popular tracks and new material. In 2021, they continued to build their discography with the release of singles like “Like 1999” and “Tempo,” further solidifying their presence in the indie pop scene.
In 2024, Valley embraced a new chapter as a trio following the departure of lead guitarist Michael Brandolino, who transitioned to music production. This evolution led to the release of their album “Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden,” produced by Chase Lawrence of COIN, marking a fresh and exciting direction for the band.
Valley’s dedicated fanbase, affectionately known as Val Pals, reflects the band’s strong community engagement. Their fans regularly gather during tours, showcasing unwavering support and loyalty. With a growing discography and a commitment to artistic excellence, Valley continues to captivate audiences and carve out their place in the Canadian music landscape.
