Amber Asaly

Professional fashion photographer Amber Asaly has an incredible eye, and her work has raked up nearly three quarters of a million followers on Instagram. Most of her photographs are shot in her native Los Angeles, as well as in San Francisco, New York, or Miami, and she uses film and not digital.

Aslay’s art may well be a huge draw on social media, but it was an impromptu birthday party held inside a J train in New York that really got her noticed. After reservations ‘fell through’, her friends and family organised a party on the subway. Once on board the train, they hung decorations, set up a table, complete with tablecloth, plates and silverware, and served up an entire dinner of lobster, spaghetti, and wine. The video of the party –which lasted the length of a ride from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back again – went viral.
