Antoaneta Kostadinova

Antoaneta Kostadinova, born Antoaneta Boneva on January 17, 1986, in Targovishte, Bulgaria, began her professional shooting career in 2004. Demonstrating talent in both 10m Air Pistol and 25m Pistol disciplines, she quickly established herself on the international stage. Her early career saw participation in World Cup events and European Championships, starting with a 3rd place in the 25m Pistol Women in Milan in 2006. Prior to her Olympic debut, Kostadinova earned medals at European Championships, including a bronze in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior event in Moscow in 2006 and later silver medals at senior level competitions.

Kostadinova’s career progression is marked by her consistent presence at the Olympic Games, starting with London 2012 where she competed in both 10m Air Pistol and 25m Pistol events. A significant milestone occurred at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she secured a silver medal in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol, marking a notable achievement in her Olympic journey. She has accumulated numerous World Cup medals throughout her career, including multiple gold, silver, and bronze finishes across various international locations such as Baku, Osijek, Munich, and Fort Benning. These achievements highlight her sustained performance and competitive abilities within the sport.

Her career also includes participation in European Games, where she has secured multiple medals, including two silver and three bronze. In 2021, she was ranked third in the Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year, acknowledging her contributions to Bulgarian sports. Kostadinova continues to compete at the highest level, including recent appearances at the 2024 Paris Olympics, demonstrating her dedication and longevity in the sport of shooting, and maintains a profession as a Police officer.
