Barbara Corcoran

Barbara Corcoran is an American businesswoman, real estate mogul and television personality best known one of the “sharks” (investment experts and business titans) on ABC’s triple Emmy award-winning show Shark Tank. She is also a best-selling author, a regular columnist for the New York Daily News, More Magazine, The Daily Review and Redbook and has appeared on various TV shows including Larry King Live and Dancing with the Stars.

Corcoran started her own real estate company, Corcoran Group, with just $1,000. Utilising her astute sales and marketing skills to grow her business, Corcoran became New York City’s real estate queen, heading up a hugely successful business empire. Corcoran went on to sell her real estate company to NRT LLC for seventy million dollars in 2001.
Keen to share her inspirational business advice on television, Corcoran first appeared as a real estate expert on Good Morning America, the Today show and CNBC’s The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch. In 2008 she became a household name after joining the popular ABC show Shark Tank as a judge and investor, her no-nonsense and down to earth approach making her an instant hit with viewers. She has since pledged over $5.4 million in investments over nine hugely popular seasons.
