The wonderful sportsman and 6x NBA All-Star Blake Griffin is a professional basketball player, who currently shoots hoops for the Boston Celtics. Away from the court, he has pursued acting, and stand-up comedy, and has also worked as a brand ambassador. He is also heavily involved with many charitable institutions.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Griffin was a natural on the basketball court throughout his youth and won four High School State titles under his father, head coach Tommy Griffin. He then attended the University of Oklahoma where he played two seasons of college basketball for the Sooners before entering the 2009 NBA draft. He was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers, and after injury ruled him out of the first season, he made his debut in the 2010-11 season, after which he was named one of the NBA’s 15 Greatest Rookies of All Time by Sports Illustrated. Before the 2012-13 NBA season, he signed a contract extension reportedly worth $95 million for 5 years. After a number of injury plagued seasons, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2018. He moved to the Brooklyn Nets for the 2021-22 season, and then in September 2022 he joined the Boston Celtics.
