The handsome and likeable Bobby Giancola is best known for his time as a crew member of the reality TV series, Below Deck Mediterranean. He started off his working life as a firefighter, before moving to yachts and working his way up the ranks from deckhand to Bosun and then First Mate. He now has his captain’s license.
Giancola was born and raised in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. After graduating from high school, he started working at the Cocoa Beach, Florida fire department and stayed on the job for several years. He later became a firefighter instructor, taught marine firefighting, and trained as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He joined the crew of Below Deck Mediterranean for its first season and worked as a deckhand, with the objective of solidifying his experience at sea. But he loved the life so much that he quit his firefighting career and opted for Mediterranean yachting full time. After leaving Below Deck, Giancola continued working as a yachtie. His vast experience includes working as a Bosun on a 145-ft yacht and eventually making his way up to become First Mate on various sized-boats ranging from 88 to 130 feet. He eventually earned his captain’s license, and has now served as a captain on a number of charters.
Giancola regularly connects with his legions of dedicated followers and fans through Instagram and Facebook, posting pictures and videos of his fascinating nautical life.
