Former member of The Real Housewives of New York, Barbara Kavovit, is also a columnist and businesswoman. She appeared sporadically in the reality show between 2010 and 2019, but ultimately gave up the spotlight several years ago. However, she’s now back with a vengeance, making her intentions clear as she begins her campaign to run for the NYC Mayor.
Kavovit stood out from the other housewives as being a go-getter. She has long been the founder and CEO of the luxury company, Evergreen Constructions, and has overseen some of the most expensive and impressive construction projects in New York.
In addition to being a business owner and reality TV star, Kavovit has also dedicated her time to writing a novel, Heels of Steel, which has been well received by women everywhere. Basing the novel on her own experiences of business as a woman, it resonated with the audience and has sold a lot of copies. Kavovit also has an online store which sells everything from handbags to tool kits for doing DIY at home.
Now, Kavovit aims to be the Mayor of New York City. After being interviewed by the New York Times, she admitted that reality TV wasn’t the route for her, and she has an incredible work ethic. She discovered through her Housewives experience that she’s ready to make a bigger dent on the world. With over ninety thousand Instagram followers, it seems she already has a big support system for the role, and she certainly has the drive too.
