Broadway Husbands
Broadway Husbands are happily married showbiz couple Stephen Hanna and Bret Shuford who connect with fellow musical lovers via their blog and Instagram. Fans and followers are invited to share the ups and downs of their careers and even their surrogacy journey as the pair share their lives online.
Shuford arrived in New York in 1999 from Texas, and has starred in eight Broadway shows, also appearing in films and on television. He was starring in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on Broadway when he met Hanna, a principle dancer with the New York City Ballet. The pair fell in love and got married in 2011, continuing their successful dance and Broadway careers and travelling the world. The talented couple started their Instagram just for fun after noticing people engaging with the hashtag #BroadwayHusbands online, and in just a matter of months they had amassed over 10k followers and grown a community of fans. Their regular podcasts are inspirational for people from all walks of life, from those looking for a career in theatre to the LGBTQ community and other people going through the surrogacy process.
In 2019 Hanna danced at the Lake Tahoe Dance Festival and Shuford directed The Little Mermaid at Westport Country Playhouse. The Broadway Husbands continue to show others that you can have a family and happy home life whilst still pursuing your dreams.
