Bruce Ornstein is a seasoned American actor and director, best recognized for his memorable role as “Gus” in the iconic 1977 film “Saturday Night Fever.” Born with a passion for the performing arts, Ornstein’s career took off with this seminal film, setting the stage for a versatile and enduring journey in the entertainment industry.
Following the success of “Saturday Night Fever,” Ornstein’s career expanded to include a diverse range of projects. He has left his mark on numerous films, television movies, television program episodes, and stage plays. One notable film credit is “Jack and His Friends,” where he not only showcased his acting prowess but also took on the roles of writer and director.
In 2012, Ornstein demonstrated his creative talents once again by co-writing and directing the independent film “Vamperifica” for Blood River Productions. This horror-comedy garnered acclaim, securing several awards, including Best Picture and Best Vampire Comedy at the 2012 Indie Horror Festival. The film also earned recognition with Best Horror Comedy and the Audience Award at the Bram Stoker International Horror Festival in Whitby, UK.

Since 1997, he has been teaching acting in New York City through the Bruce Ornstein Acting Workshop.
