Chris “Burr” Martin became an unexpected social media superstar when he started recreating his daughter Cassie’s selfies and posted them online. Also known as the #SelfieDad, Burr’s own social media following is now bigger than his daughter’s and has a total reach of around 150,000. Martin now runs #SelfieDad as a social media brand, and also hosts events around the globe including in Germany, Australia and Japan and performs stand-up comedy. He has also featured on ABC World News, Good Morning Britain, Inside Edition, The Steve Harvey Show, Today Show, Most Astonishing News, Today Show (Australia), Fox News, Good Morning America and Inside Edition since his rise to fame.
Before becoming a social media sensation Martin worked in radio hosting and co-hosting, producing commercials and night time DJ’ing. Concerned about boys commenting on his daughter Cassie’s social media photos, Martin spent hours copying her selfies down to the tiniest details, copying her poses, tattoos, outfits and more. The hilarious pictures suddenly began to go viral, with one post becoming huge within just three days, and Burr was praised for making people laugh around the globe. In addition to his stand-up comedy work, he can be heard on his podcast The Burr Martin Experience where he brings his unique brand of comedy to discuss weird news around the world joined by his co-host/wife of 28 years.
