South African model Candice Swanepoel is known as one of Victoria’s Secret’s ‘Angels’ and also for her charity work.
Throughout her youth, Swanepoel was a dancer and was spotted by a model scout when she was just 15 years old. She has gone on to become one of the most successful models of all time, making it into the Forbes’ highest earning models list four times. Some of her runway appearances include for Chanel, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Dolce and Gabbana, and Ralph Lauren. Swanepoel has also been a part of numerous advertising campaigns, again working with some of the most high profile fashion brands in the world such as Versace, Diesel, Tommy Hilfiger, and Miu Miu. She has also become one of Victoria’s Secret’s coveted ‘Angels’, walking in runways for the brand and being chosen to open stores, model the Kardashian’s swimwear line, and showcase the Royal Fantasy Bra, a $10 million piece of couture lingerie. Alongside her work for luxury brands, Swanepoel has also launched her own award winning swimwear line, called Tropic of C.
Outside of modelling, Swanepoel is an advocate for charity causes such as mothers2mothers, which works to eradicate HIV across Africa. She has designed fashion lines to raise money for the charity, and is a global ambassador and spokesperson for the organisation. Swanepoel continues to work for some of the biggest names in fashion, and has already influenced a generation of young admirers.
