Carrie Berk is an anti-bullying activist, author, social media influencer and actress who has co-authored three young adult and children’s novel series. She is well-known for The Cupcake Club bestselling novel series which she penned with her mother, and for her style website Carrie’s Chronicles. As an actress she is best known for starring in Brat TV’s Stage Fright. A proud teen ambassador for NoBully.org, in 2019 she joined forces with other teen celebrities to record a “Girls Against Bullying” video which she also scripted.
Born and raised in New York, Berk is the daughter of author and journalist Sheryl Berk, and she showed signs of wanting to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a writer from a young age. She was just seven years old when she began writing Carrie’s Cupcake Critique, her own cupcake review blog, and in second grade she developed her idea for a novel about a cupcake club. After telling her mother about the idea they approached a literary agent, and in 2012 Peace, Love and Cupcakes – the first novel in the series – was published by Sourcebooks Jabberwocky. The book became a bestseller and went on to inspire an off-Broadway musical with the Vital Theatre Company in 2014.
Berk and her mother’s second book series – Fashion Academy – also inspired an off-Broadway musical, and in 2018 the mother and daughter launched their third bestselling book series, Ask Emma.
