Bethany Balcer is an American professional soccer player, and rising star in the sport. She plays as a forward for the team OL Reign, based in Washington. At only 23, she has won a multitude of championships and accolades, and is thought-of as one of the most promising young players and goal-scorers in America.
Born in Hudsonville, Michigan, she showed unusual aptitude for soccer from a young age. Her talents enabled her to play soccer at collegiate level, and she played at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. It was here her talents really started to shine, and she won the National Championship twice as well as winning National Player of the Year three times.
Her first experiences playing in professional tournaments came during college, and she played with Grand Rapids FC. Her successes in the arena set her in good stead to begin training professionally with Reign FC. She is known as first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics player to sign with the National Soccer Women’s League. She debuted in April 2019, and a week later, scored her first ever goal against Orlando Pride. Her early successes have impressed soccer fans and club managers alike, and she subsequently won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2019. She is the first ever member of her club to win this award. She has won a sponsorship with top sports brand Adidas.
