Catherine Mary Stewart’s acting career includes an expansive list of over 37 films and television series features, and over 50 different productions in total – with her most well known role being in the groundbreaking soap opera Days of Our Lives. Stewart played Kayla Brady, half of the well-loved pairing with character Steve Johnson. Another popular role played by Stewart was in the rock musical Star Rock, where Stewart played the lead – having been headhunted whilst she was in London studying dance, acting and singing. Star Rock has developed a cult following by devoted fans who demanded it be screened twice at the Lincoln Centre in New York City. The musical was also chosen to open the Montreal World Film Festival, and is still a celebrated film today.
Stewart subsequently played the leading lady in The Last Starfighter, Night of the Comet, Mischief and Weekend at Bernie’s – dominating the cinematic screen in the 80’s due to her passion for acting that comes across clearly in her portrayals. Since then, Stewart has focussed more on television movies, gathering an impressive list of accolades and roles, including most recently in feel-good Christmas movie Rock and Roll Christmas. Stewart has also recently starred in TV series New Amsterdam, which has won two awards at CinEuphoria, and has voice acted for Red Dead Redemption II, the game franchise that took the world by storm. Stewart seems to be showing no sign of slowing down, despite achieving more success in her vibrant career than most people can dream of.
