Albert Tsai

Albert Tsai was born on August 5, 2004, in San Jose, California. His interest in acting began at the age of seven when he participated in a school play, leading him to take acting classes. At the Los Angeles iPOP convention in 2012, he was recognized as the Child Actor of the Year, which led to his professional career being managed by former Disney executive Tina Treadwell. Tsai made his television debut in May 2013 on CBS’s series “How I Met Your Mother.” His initial breakthrough role was as Bert on the ABC comedy series “Trophy Wife,” which he booked first.

His role as Bert in “Trophy Wife” (2013-2014) earned him critical acclaim, including a “Best Supporting Actor” nomination from the 2014 Critics’ Choice Television Awards and recognition as a “Breakout TV Star” by The Huffington Post, Hollywood.com, and E! Online. In 2015, Entertainment Weekly named him one of the 12 Best Child Actors. Following “Trophy Wife,” Tsai continued his career in television, starring in ABC’s “Dr. Ken” (2015-2017), CBS’s “9JKL” (2017-2018), and Disney Channel’s “Coop and Cami Ask the World” (2018-2020). He also made guest appearances in shows such as “Fresh Off The Boat,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Hot In Cleveland,” and “Benched.” His film work includes voicing Peng in Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation’s 2019 feature film “Abominable,” alongside Chloe Bennet and Sarah Paulson. He also voiced Drew in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” (2022).

Beyond his acting work, Albert Tsai is bilingual, speaking Chinese Mandarin fluently. He enjoys reading, swimming, surfing, and horseback riding. He has traveled extensively across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Tsai is currently attending Columbia University, balancing his academic pursuits with his career. His consistent work in both comedic and animated roles demonstrates his versatility and sustained presence in the entertainment industry.
