Catherine Sutherland is an Australian actress best known for playing the Pink Power Ranger in the popular Power Rangers children’s television show. Sutherland first portrayed the second Pink Power ranger and also the first Pink Turbo Ranger and the Pink Zeo Ranger. Her other television credits include long-running Australian soap Neighbours, Australian series State Coroner and The Man from Snowy River. She has also appeared in the 2000 movie The Cell and Australian reality show Dream Factory.
Born in Blacktown, New South Wales, Sutherland honed her acting skills at McDonald College of Performing Arts and Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Arts. Sutherland joined Japanese/American children’s superhero television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers halfway through the third season of the show as a replacement for Amy Jo Johnson’s Pink Ranger. Sutherland stayed with the cast for Power Rangers Zeo (the fourth season), and also appeared in the movie Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie and the fifth television series Power Rangers Turbo.
In 2017 Sutherland joined several other former Power Rangers actors for the short film The Order, and a year later she reprised the role of Katherine Hillard (the second Pink Ranger ) in an episode of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel for the 25th anniversary of the franchise. Sutherland is loyal to fans of the Power Ranger franchise and often attends conventions with other former cast members.
