Internet sensation, blogger and fitness fanatic Chontel Duncan rose to fame after sharing her pregnancy fitness journey on Instagram. Duncan has amassed over 940,000 followers on Instagram and has founded her own fitness program FIERCE – a combination of high-intensity circuits and strength training – available in the SWEAT app. Duncan has appeared regularly in the media and has featured in Elle, The Daily Mail, The Huffington Post and Best Fit Magazine. Duncan also now owns Queensland’s HIIT Australia gyms.
Born in Brisbane, Australia, Duncan was talented at team sports at school playing rugby, football, netball, basketball and volleyball. She began modelling when she was just 14 years old, and was a finalist in Miss Universe Australia 2009 representing Queensland. She first rose to prominence after competing in the International Natural Bodybuilding Association ‘fitness’ category and her fan base grew steadily online.
Duncan hit the headlines when she posted a photo of her baby bump on Instagram, receiving positivity from many of her fans but also some negative comments who didn’t think she should continue her workouts through pregnancy. Rather than hide away from the backlash, Duncan chose to continue sharing her pregnancy journey with her fans and shared details of her pregnancy-safe exercise routines. Duncan has now said her mission is to educate her followers and community to be active for life through health and fitness, focusing on strength, power and performance.
