Christina Black is an extremely talented Canadian curler who is the captain – or “skip” – of her own Dartmouth Curling Club in Nova Scotia, a post she has held since the 2020-21 season. She won a bronze medal while representing her home province of Nova Scotia at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. An accomplished veteran of the sport, Black has appeared at four separate Hearts tournaments since 2015. She has also made appearances at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championships in 2013 and 2018.
After displaying an affinity for the sport at a young age, Black commenced her professional curling career when she joined Team Mary-Anne Arsenault for the 2014-15 season season at third. She won multiple high-profile tour events including the Dave Jones Moison Mayflower Cashspiel and the 2015 Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts. She remained in the team for six successful seasons, accumulating a sizeable collection of curling victories and tournament appearances along the way. She took great pride in winning the 2018 Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts as well as the 2018 New Scotland Clothing Ladies Cashspiel.
Since forming her own curling team, she has continued her winning streak, including a victory at the 2020 Curling Store Cashspiel. In the 2021-22 season she reached the final of the Atlantic Superstore Monctonian Challenge, and later in the season secured a memorable win at the Tim Hortons Spitfire Arms Cash Spiel. Her natural leadership capabilities lending themselves well to her skip position, Black is one of the most respected professional curlers on the circuit is always looking for ways to take her skills to the next level.
