Aaron Sluchinski

Born on March 24, 1987, in Drayton Valley, Alberta, Aaron Sluchinski developed an early interest in curling, which led him to a professional career in the sport. He began making a name for himself in the junior circuit, notably skipping his Alberta rink at the 2008 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Sluchinski transitioned to men’s curling, participating in his first Boston Pizza Cup (Alberta’s men’s provincial championship) in 2012. Over the years, he has demonstrated his skill and leadership, evidenced by his team’s strong performances in various World Curling Tour events and provincial championships.

Sluchinski’s career includes significant milestones with his own team, notably winning the 2024 Boston Pizza Cup, where his team defeated the highly-ranked Kevin Koe rink. This victory earned his team a spot at the 2024 Montana’s Brier, Canada’s national men’s curling championship. Beyond men’s curling, Sluchinski has achieved success in mixed doubles, partnering with Brittany Tran to win the 2020 Alberta Mixed Doubles Curling Championship and later reaching the semifinals of the 2023 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. He continued his mixed doubles success with his wife, Amanda Sluchinski, winning the 2024 Alberta Mixed Doubles Championship.

A significant turning point in Sluchinski’s career occurred in October 2024 when he joined Team Kevin Koe as the second (later shifted to third). This move came after he had previously defeated Koe’s team in critical provincial and national events. This partnership brought together two prominent figures in Alberta curling, aiming for further success in Grand Slam events and national championships, including the 2025 Montana’s Brier and Olympic trials.
