Dan Finnerty

Dan Finnerty is an American actor and singer, known for founding The Dan Band and for his appearances in popular films and television shows. After his scene-stealing performance in the 2003 film Old School, where he famously sang ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart,’ Dan Finnerty solidified his place as a dynamic performer. Building on prior experience as a member of the off-Broadway show ‘Stomp’ in New York City, Finnerty founded The Dan Band in 2000, quickly gaining recognition as the lead singer of the comedy band known for unique covers of female-performed pop songs with comedic alterations. His impactful film appearances continued with roles in Starsky & Hutch (2004) and The Hangover (2009).

Demonstrating his range in theatrical performance, Finnerty originated the pivotal role of Lonny in the world premiere of the acclaimed musical Rock of Ages in Los Angeles. In 2015, Finnerty further broadened The Dan Band’s discography with The Wedding Album, which highlighted the band’s signature blend of humor and musicality. This period underscored Finnerty’s ability to integrate his comedic voice with musical talents across stage and screen. Expanding his contributions to film, Finnerty also showcased songwriting prowess by co-writing the original song ‘Look At Her’ for the critically acclaimed Netflix film Dumplin’, which premiered in 2018.
