The towering sportsman D’Angelo Russell is a basketball point guard. Better known as DLo on the circuit, he has spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Golden State Warriors. He currently plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA.
Born and raised in Kentucky, DLo later moved to Florida where he helped his High School win back-to-back National Tournament basketball championships. He the further developed his basketball skills while attending Ohio State University, going on to be named Consensus first-team All-American, First-team All-Big Ten, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and winner of the Jerry West Award in 2015. He then declared for the NBA draft, forging his final three years of college eligibility.
DLo was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers and made his professional debut in October 2015. Named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team 2016, he stayed with the Lakers for a further season, then in 2017 joined the Brooklyn Nets. After he was selected as an NBA All-Star in 2019, he joined the Golden State Warriors for a season. In February 2020 he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
