Alan Norris

Alan Norris, born on February 21, 1972, in Yeovil, England, is a professional darts player, nicknamed “Chuck.” Norris played darts since 1981, becoming a prominent figure in both the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and later the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). His early career highlights in the BDO included winning the 2007 Sweden National Championships and reaching the semi-finals of the Welsh Open in 2008. He also secured titles such as the French Open in 2010 and 2011, and the Luxembourg Open in 2011 and 2012, demonstrating consistent form and competitive ability before his shift to the PDC.

Norris achieved significant milestones in the BDO, notably reaching the BDO World Darts Championship final in 2014, where he was runner-up to Stephen Bunting. He also made it to the final of the 2012 Zuiderduin Masters, again losing to Bunting. His success in 2014 was particularly strong, with wins at the Denmark Open, Polish Open, British Classic, Swedish Open, Scottish Classic, and Catalan Open. This period established him as a top player in the BDO circuit, earning him a debut at the Grand Slam of Darts in 2014, where he reached the last 16.

In 2015, Alan Norris moved to the PDC, quickly establishing himself as a formidable competitor. He secured a Tour Card on his first attempt at Q School and was named the PDC Best Newcomer of the year in 2016 after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2016 PDC World Darts Championship. He won his first PDC title at the Players Championship event in October 2015 and his first European Tour title at the German Darts Championship in 2016. In 2017, he reached the semi-finals of the UK Open and the quarter-finals of the World Matchplay, further solidifying his position within the PDC. Norris notably achieved four nine-dart finishes throughout his career, including one televised at the 2016 Players Championship Finals, earning him £35,000.
