Dellacoma Rio is an Australian musician, performer, and actor known for his work in hard rock music and diverse acting roles across television, film, and theatre.
Born in Seattle but raised in Tasmania, Australia, Dellacoma Rio has built a career in both music and acting. Early in his career, he studied theatre at York College, Nebraska, USA, and subsequently secured stage roles, along with minor film and TV appearances, between 2005 and 2007. His acting credits from this period include featured extra roles in American television series such as ‘The OC’, ‘Criminal Minds’, and ‘Cold Case’. Upon returning to Australia in 2008, Rio shifted his focus to music, establishing himself as a frontman for various bands.
Rio spent nearly a decade leading internationally touring original and tribute bands, including Sunset Riot and The Australian INXS Show. He also launched his solo band, Dellacoma, which released its second album, ‘Blood’, in summer 2021. The band’s successful tracks include ‘Movin’ On to Something New’, ‘Time Falls Away’, and ‘Adrenaline’, which have accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams. In 2020, Dellacoma collaborated with Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns on the single ‘Kill Your Idols’. Parallel to his music career, Rio returned to acting in 2018, completing the Howard Fine Master Class in 2019. He has also been a featured extra in the Australian soap opera ‘Neighbours’ and appeared as a contestant on MTV’s ‘Next’ and ‘My Own’.
His acting work further spans various Shakespearean plays in theatre productions in Australia and Los Angeles. In 2019, Rio secured his first leading film role in the independent movie ‘The Dealer’, which is expected to be released in 2024. Prior film projects include ‘Lillian’ (2020) and ‘Arni & Dana: Maintenance’ (2022). Throughout his career, he has also participated in major advertising campaigns for brands such as Kia.
