Dominic Carter

Dominic Carter is a British actor best known for his stint on the global sensation that is Game Of Thrones, featuring in his recurring role of Janos Slynt in the HBO series. He is also well known to fans of the long running primetime television staple soap opera that is Coronation Street, appearing as the steadfast DC Hooch.

A veteran of television and trained at the prestigious drama school RADA, Carter has appeared in a wide array of popular British classics, new television hits and several film projects. Fans can spot him appearing in afternoon soap opera Doctors, police drama The Bill and Drop Dead Gorgeous, amongst many others. However, his breakout role came as the commander of the City Watch, or Gold Cloaks, and founder of his house, Janos Slynt. While he was initially only meant to be a guest star for season one, his fantastic portrayal of the character cemented him as a fan favourite that people loved to hate, and his character was eventually brought back for three more seasons before meeting his end at the hands of Jon Snow.

Outside of Game Of Thrones, Carter has continued to work on a variety of different projects- his later credits include appearances on shows such as Murdered For Being Different, the hit new detective show Endeavour, Guilt and Jimmy McGovern’s Moving On, among many others.
