With a home on Nat Geo Wild, this furry feature is an animal-lover favourite all down to one man, Dr Jan Pol. Pol’s signature kind heart and great character has not only saved the lives of neverending animals, but has warmed the hearts of thousands more sitting at home.

Finishing at Utrecht University in 1970 with a promising degree in veterinary medicine, Pol worked for a veterinary practice in Harbor Beach before opening his very own practice in Weidman, Michigan alongside his wife and accomplice Diane. Going by the name Pol Veterinary Services, the Pol duo dealt with cases of a complex variety of all different shapes and sizes. With a focus on rural areas, filling a gap that really needed filling, Pol provided a highly appreciated service for rural land owners – with most of their cases being imminent emergencies. Pol has faced some unfortunate scrutiny in the form of viewer complaints, but the majority of Pol’s viewers remain faithful to Pol’s character and expertise.
