His acting career began with appearances in films such as “Curse of Pirate Death” and “Blink.” He made his television debut on “Greek” as an omega chi pledge, followed by significant roles as Griffin in “iCarly” (2009-2010), Jesse, Miley’s love interest, in “Hannah Montana” (2009-2011) over five episodes, and Travis Benjamin in “Lincoln Heights.” In 2010, Roy expanded his filmography with roles in “One Wish” and “Costa Rican Summer,” where he played Doobie. A notable film role in 2010 was Seth Hancock in “Secretariat,” a biographical sports drama. His early career demonstrated a consistent progression in securing diverse roles across different genres.

Roy achieved a lead role as Hal Mason in the television series “Falling Skies” from 2011 to 2015, appearing in 52 episodes throughout the show’s run. This role significantly raised his profile in the science fiction genre.
