Drew Roy is an American actor who first found fame as Hal Mason in the post-apocalyptic drama series Falling Skies. Produced by DreamWorks, the show ran for five seasons and won the first-ever Critics’ Choice Award for Most Exciting New Series. Since the show finished in 2015, Roy has kept himself busy with appearances in series such as The Last Ship and iCarly as well as films such as Sugar Mountain and The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson. He also previously appeared in the successful 2010 biopic, Secretariat. Although he still acts, he now also works as a qualified jet pilot.
Roy is an Alabama boy, but like many aspiring actors, he moved to Los Angeles to make his dreams come true. He got his first acting roles in short and independent films such as The Curse of Pirate Death and Blink. He got his first recurring television role in 2009, appearing in three episodes of ABC family drama Lincoln Heights. He also appeared in various episodes of iCarly and Hannah Montana. In 2011, however, he got his biggest role when he was cast as one of the main roles in Falling Skies, a drama that takes place after a savage alien invasion of Earth. The show ran for five seasons and Roy appeared in all of them.
