Dylan John Llewellyn is an English actor, known for portraying the role of Martin “Jono” Johnson in Channel 4’s award-winning prime time show Hollyoaks and James Maguire (or otherwise known as ‘the wee English fella’) in the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls.
Llewellyn began appeared in the short film Travel Bag in 2009 and in 2010 he played Adam Wilcock in an episode of the television series The Bill. In 2011, Llewellyn began playing Martin “Jono” Johnson in the soap opera Hollyoaks and in the spin-off Hollyoaks Later, which aimed to take Hollyoaks down a darker path away from the innocence of prime time. He made his last appearance in Hollyoaks in November 2012 after his character was killed off in a dramatic final scene. Since leaving Hollyoaks, Llewelyn has made appearances in Holby City, the film Frequencies in 2013, and Down Dog in 2014. Since 2018, Llewelyn has played the role of James Maguire in the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls, which has turned into a fan favourite since it began. In 2020, Llewellyn played Stewart Irmsby in an episode of series 9 of Call the Midwife.
Llewellyn performed in a sketch with his Derry Girls co-stars as well as actress Saoirse Ronan for the fundraising special RTÉ Does Comic Relief. All proceeds from the night went towards those affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. This is only the beginning of Dylan’s career and with a strong background already established – the only way is up.
