The mighty Eddie George is an actor, producer, entrepreneur, commentator, analyst, keynote speaker, coach, and former professional American football running back. He spent nine years playing in the NFL, most notably with the Tennessee Titans. He is now the Head Coach at Tennessee State. He also established the Tamara & Edward George Legacy Fund with his wife to provide financial and community support to organisations and individuals that support excellence in education, entertainment, and entrepreneurship.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, George was a prolific sportsman at a young age and excelled on the football field. He played college football for the Ohio State University and won the Heisman Trophy in 1995. He was recruited by the Tennessee Titans in the 1996 NFL Draft and played professionally for them in both Tennessee and Houston (when they were known as the Houston Oilers). He ended his career with the Dallas Cowboys and retired in 2004. He then began to forge a career as a businessman and an actor. He received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, and made his TV debut in an episode of Rock Me, Baby playing himself. He made his acting debut a year later in 2005 with a part in the film Into the Sun. He has since gone on to feature in countless movie, TV and stage productions, including Shooter, NCIS: Los Angeles, Magnum P.I., and Brother’s Keeper, as well as in the broadway production of Chicago. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011, and in 2021 was appointed Head Coach at Tennessee State.
