Eddie George has transitioned from a Heisman Trophy-winning collegiate athlete and NFL Pro Bowl running back to a successful entrepreneur, actor, and head football coach. After a decorated collegiate career at Ohio State University culminating in the 1995 Heisman Trophy, Eddie George was drafted 14th overall in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. During his senior year in 1995, George led Ohio State to the Florida Citrus Bowl and earned significant accolades including the Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award, and was a unanimous All-American. He was also recognized as the Big Ten Most Valuable Player and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, alongside a First-team All-Big Ten selection.
In 2021, George took on the role of head coach at Tennessee State University, a position he held through 2024. During his tenure, he led the team to become Big SouthOVC Champions in 2024, an achievement that also earned him the title of Big SouthOVC Coach of the Year for 2024. Looking ahead, George has been hired as the head coach for Bowling Green State University, commencing in 2025.
