Emiri Iwamoto is a distinguished karate champion and fitness instructor whose career has been marked by exceptional achievements in martial arts. Beginning her journey in karate at a young age, Emiri quickly rose through the ranks, earning a spot on the All-Japan National team shortly after entering the workforce. Over a decade of competition, she showcased her skills on both national and international stages, culminating in her recognition as the world’s number one ranked Karate-ka in 2017.
Following her retirement from competitive karate in December 2023, Emiri transitioned into a role dedicated to promoting the art of karate. She founded Tokyo Katete Tours LLC, where she focuses on integrating karate with tourism, aiming to share her passion with a global audience. Emiri teaches karate at the NERGY Karate Club in Harajuku and at Kids Duo International Shinonome, where she emphasizes the importance of fitness and discipline in martial arts.
In addition to her teaching roles, Emiri serves as a coach for the Waseda University Karate Club and the International Budo University Karate Club. Her academic background in sports science sociology has greatly influenced her coaching methods, allowing her to implement scientifically-backed training techniques that enhance her students’ performance.
