Ewan McGregor is one of the best known actors in Hollywood and he has been on the acting scene for a long time. From starring in the renowned musical, Moulin Rouge, to playing a starring role in the Trainspotting films, McGregor brings talent and variance to the table with his skills.
McGregor began his acting career in 1993 when he had a recurring role in the TV mini-series, Lipstick on Your Collar. He also had a small role in Being Human that year, which starred Robin Williams. However, his career truly kicked off in 1996 with the release of the first Trainspotting film in which he played Renton, a defining character in his career. The film explores addiction and other heavy topics, making it a memorable role in anyone’s book. The film won him a Scottish BAFTA for the Best Actor.
McGregor has appeared in plenty of other big roles, including as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise and in Fargo, the TV series which won him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in 2018. He has appeared in every genre of films from comedies such as The Men Who Stare at Goats to teen action classics like Stormbreaker.
