Aye Mya Phyu, also known as Moe Tho, is a celebrated Burmese singer, actress, and former child star who gained widespread fame after finishing as the runner-up in the fourth season of Myanmar Idol. Her journey into the spotlight began early; at just five years old, she won first prize for Traditional Dance at a preschool competition in Yangon in 2008. From then on, she actively participated in numerous dancing competitions and performed traditional dance in many anyeint performances.
Her musical talent was evident early on as she won a gold medal with her song “Dokalay” in the singing portion of the 19th National Performing Arts Competition. She also showcased her skills in the third season of Starlets’ Sky, advancing through multiple levels and ultimately winning first place.
Aye Mya Phyu’s participation in Myanmar Idol marked a significant milestone in her career. She impressed the judges and audiences alike, progressing through various rounds and ultimately reaching the Grand Final, where she finished as the runner-up. This achievement brought her national recognition and a devoted fan base.
Following her success on Myanmar Idol, she performed at various notable events, including the VX Classic 2020 Grand Bodybuilding Concert, Eushido Myanmar’s Event, and the Shwe Settaw Pagoda festival. Her performances in concerts celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Burmese Film and Yangon University showcased her versatility as both a singer and a dancer.
Her single “Lwan Nay Loh,” released on June 26, 2020, topped Melo’s top 100 chart, and her song “Naw,” released on August 16, 2020, also achieved number one on the same chart. Another hit, “Brand New Love,” released on January 15, 2021, reached the top of Joox’s Myanmar top 100 chart. She also featured in Oak Soe Khant’s single “Stage of Vows, New Road to Nibbana,” based on classical Burmese music (Mahagita).
