Trained at Charabot, he honed his skills over five years before embarking on a successful career at Chanel, where he served as Director of Research and Development. During this time, Demachy collaborated on a diverse range of fragrances for notable brands including Chanel, Ungaro, Bourjois, and Tiffany, showcasing his versatility and expertise in scent creation.
In 2006, Demachy was appointed Director of Development for LVMH’s cosmetics and perfumes division, becoming the main perfumer for Christian Dior. His role extended to collaborating on fragrances for other prestigious brands under the LVMH umbrella, such as Fendi and Acqua di Parma. One of his most notable creations is the flanker *Miss Dior Chérie L’Eau*, released in 2009. British Vogue lauded this fragrance as a “sparkling and distinctive floral scent,” skillfully blending notes of bitter orange, gardenia, and white musks. In 2011, Demachy led significant revisions to the *Miss Dior* line, reimagining *Miss Dior Chérie* into the new *Miss Dior Original*, allowing Dior to maintain creative control over its fragrance formulations.
