The former 74th Governor of North Carolina from 2013-17 Pat McCrory is a leading American politician businessman, now turned radio host.
As a visionary problem solver, McCrory is a highly regarded politician who has throughout his career stood at the forefront of many key economic, societal and health-related issues in the US. In 1995 McCrory gained national prominence for the first time when he became the seven-term mayor in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. During his time in this position, McCrory dedicated his career to turning the once sleepy town into a thriving metropolis. Of his developments, McCrory was a driving force in the city’s new international airport, new public housing communities, a new arena and the Charlotte’s NASCAR Hall of Fame. He also helped drastically improve the area’s economy by increasing recruitment rates and lowering taxes. McCrory later went on to become the Governor of North Carolina from 2013-2017. Once again, McCrory set to work revitalising America’s 9th most populous state with tax reforms and the creation of over 300,000 new jobs. Now referred to as the Carolina Comeback era, McCrory is renowned as a compassionate leader who successfully led the state through some of its worst flooding in history and the devastating impact of Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
During his political career, McCrory has worked closely with Presidents Clinton Bush, Obama and Trump and during 2002-06 he proudly served on the Homeland Security Advisory Council, following the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks. His wealth of experience now sees McCrory as a regular guest on multiple broadcast networks including National Public Radio, CNN and Fox News.
