Named the “King” of home fragrance by The New York Times, entrepreneur Harry Slatkin is the creative force and founder of Slatkin & Co. The home fragrance brand is a favourite of numerous A-List celebrities including Elton John and Oprah Winfrey, and Slatkin is often regarded as one of the leading fragrance experts in America. Slatkin regularly appears on QVC, is a contributing editor at Elle Décor Magazine and has also made numerous guest appearances on television shows including The Martha Stewart Show, CNN, Extra TV, CNBC, and E! News. He has also created candle lines with some of the world’s most renowned tastemakers, including Oscar de la Renta.
Slatkin was a former Bear Stearns Director before creating his own brand, Slatkin & Co. Launched at Saks Fifth Avenue in the early 1990s, the iconic brand was soon picked up by international stores and speciality retailers. Retailer Les Wexner bought Slatkin & Co. in 2005 for L Brands for a reported $13 million, naming Slatkin President of Home Design for Limited Brands. The entrepreneur now also owns successful home fragrance and bath/body brands Scentworx and HomeWorx.
The award-winning home fragrance “King” has also found time to serve on the boards of various non-profit organizations along with his wife Laura (who also played an integral role in his company during its first decade), helping to build New York State’s first charter school for autism.
