Hayley McQueen is best known as a Sky Sports News lead anchor and as the presenter of the Scottish Cup and Scottish Premiership. Her love of the game and in-depth football knowledge has seen her rise through the ranks at several broadcasters, and she is also an RTS Award-winning producer. As one of only a small number of female broadcasters to have anchored live Premier League football, the UEFA Cup, the Champions League and the FA Cup, McQueen is a trailblazer for future generations of female sports presenters.
Born in Manchester, she kicked off her television career as a production assistant for daytime show Richard and Judy before becoming a reporter and producer on Middlesbrough’s Boro TV. In 2006 she joined Manchester United TV, where she worked as anchor for four seasons interviewing the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and past and present players. In 2010 she presented a live daily show for Al Jazeera throughout the World Cup tournament in South Africa, reaching over 100 million viewers around the globe.
Since moving to Sky Sports, McQueen has broken some of the biggest new stories in the world of sport, and also hosted Match Choice, Sky Sports’ flagship Football First Premier League highlights show on a Saturday night. She also co-presents the award winning podcast The Offside Rule, and as a journalist has contributed to twentyfour7 Football magazine writing exclusive interviews with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Paul Ince and Roberto Martinez.
