James Clark, a member of the band “Electrohoney” and a contestant on Season 11 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” goes by the drag name Honey Davenport. Mama Ru was back in Season 11 and bigger than ever. It featured some of the most obnoxious and beautiful queens to ever grace the Drag Race stage. This series was tucked into the margins with more tea, more shade, and more challenges than ever before, with veteran judges, Michelle Visage, Santino Rice, Carson Kressley, Todrick Hall, and Ross Mathews sitting alongside RuPaul. Honey Davenport had to stand out among the 14 other contenders. Her persona name is derived from RuPaul’s autograph to her, in which he refers to her as “honey,” and “Davenport” is derived from her drag mother’s name, Deja Davenport. Honey is the third queen from Haus of Davenport to compete; the first was Sahara Davenport, and the second was Kennedy Davenport.
Honey Davenport has won 18 beauty pageants in total. She has stated that she was nothing more than a backup dancer for several years until she was encouraged by Season 9’s runner-up Peppermint and chose to pursue her own profession. In 2013, she published “The Electric Highway,” her debut Electrohoney album, which included the songs “Jet to Dance,” “Transsexual,” “Found It Out,” “Indestructible,” “Last Call,” and “Sizzle.” In 2019, she also released a solo track called “The Hive.” Honey Davenport has over 120 thousand Instagram followers and is known for her raw and unfiltered aesthetic.
