Indira Varma is an actress from the United Kingdom, best known for her work in popular television series including Rome, Luther, and Game of Thrones. Varma began her acting career with a starring role in the 1996 film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, before continuing to star in pictures throughout the late ‘90s, with performances in Clancy’s Kitchen, Sixth Happiness, and Jinnah. Varma landed her first starring role in a television series in 1999, securing a lead spot in psychological thriller Psychos.
Since her screen debut, Varma has been a consistent presence on British TV screens. Appearing in more than thirty television series since the year 2000, she can be seen in hit television shows like BBC miniseries The Canterbury Tales, HBO’s Rome, Luther alongside Idris Elba, and Game of Thrones, a performance that earned her a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild award.
