American actor Adrian R’Mante is best known to young audiences for playing Esteban Ramirez in the Disney Channel’s Emmy-nominated The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, a sitcom set in a Boston hotel where Ramirez is the head bellman. As well as being nominated for an Emmy, the show also won a Best Family Television Series Award at the Young Artist Awards. Yet R’Mante is equally strong in shows for older audiences and has appeared in the likes of 24, CSI, NCIS, JAG, and recent reboots of classics such as Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-O.
R’Mante was born in Tampa, Florida and made his first credited on-screen appearance in 2000, aged 22, in NBC police sitcom Battery Park. After several years of auditions, short films, and guest appearances, including in landmark sitcoms such as Frasier, he won his first recurring role in 2005 as the exotically named Esteban Julio Ricardo Montoya de la Rosa Ramirez, a bellman descended from Peruvian royalty, in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, the show became one of the Disney Channel’s biggest successes and, with nearly 90 episodes, became one of its longest-running sitcoms, even spawning a spin-off series and TV movie (both of which R’Mante made a guest appearance in).
Whilst appearing on The Suite Life, R’Mante also had a recurring role as Paramedic Rivera in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, a must-have for any self-respecting actor’s resume. In 2011, he continued to defy typecasting by playing Storm Johnson in the cult horror film Underground. With such a busy and varied career, it’s little wonder that R’Mante also works as a successful acting coach.
